While I breathe, I hope

I'm a Christian - God is my everything. My own personal fairy tale hero. I love reading fanfiction, sewing/cosplay (coscraft.tumblr.com), cake decorating, candy, and writing fanfiction.

I'm super addicted to Once Upon A Time, and even though this is my only current blog it's all about Rumbelle and Robert Carlyle (What else is there to think about, really?). I also have a twitter account @DetectiveElle . Feel free to follow or tweet at me!

I’m definitely want to finish Caged. I started a new job and the training has left me a bit brain dead most of the time. But knowing people are wondering about it is an incentive for me to start work on it again. So thank you for asking.

When Lily Evans told James Potter that she wouldn’t go out with him because he was a bully, he stopped bullying people and redeemed himself. When Lily told Severus Snape that she wouldn’t go out with him because he called her a racial slur, he went on to join a racist terrorist group.
Conclusion: James Potter handled rejection much better than Severus Snape does.

"I’m not as obsessed with Robert Carlyle as I used to be."

"Umm, you’re wearing his likeness as a necklace."

"Oh, yeah, but I only see this when I look in a mirror. Mostly I wear it for the benefit of people around me."

Can anyone tell me why Choose Your Own Adventure stories are prohibited on fanfiction.net? That seems like a pretty random ass rule.

I was actually thinking to myself “Well, in that case, my Secret Santa is fucked, and that’s not cool.”

And then I realized you were the one that made this post, XD

Haha. I’ll repost it on ao3 but still I don’t understand why they would forbid it. If the format is hard to figure out i would think that’s on the author - not something they need to worry over on an administrative level.

For those of you I’ve chatted with about this and for anyone else who may be financially struggling, I am posting this week’s grocery bill so you can see how I ended up getting $160 worth of groceries for just $98. And this isn’t even close to my best haul ($140 worth of groceries for $32, last December).
As is obvious by the receipt, I am in no way an Extreme Couponer, but I still regularly get 30-50% of my groceries free by combining sales and coupons. Unfortunately, thanks to sensationalist media coverage about extreme couponing, most people think it is incredibly daunting and time consuming to save money on your food bill each week, but I’m here to tell you it takes me maybe an hour a week to do it all. It doesn’t even have to be one hour in one sitting.
I am using Publix but this works for pretty much every major grocery chain in the US and Canada.
First, I go to the Publix website (there are even more coupons there BTW - most grocery chains’ sites are similar).
Then, I make a list of all the Buy One/ Get One Free and big sales deals they have that interest me/my family (some of them don’t at all, of course).
Next, I’ll plan my weekly menu around this list - if it’s not on sale, I’m not likely to buy it. (Bonus points on produce: you always buy whatever’s in season, which is environmentally friendly, and you get a variety of fruits and veggies in your diet this way.)
I’ll adjust my list accordingly - sometimes in the process of doing this, I’ll see that even though something’s a good deal, I’m unlikely to use it/ don’t really need it right away.
Finally, I use CouponDivas.com’s grocery store matching page to find Publix and print out coupons to go with those BOGO/sales deals, so I can use coupons on stuff that’s already half off or more.
Contrary to other couponing myths, I rarely buy processed convenience foods (Publix has BOGO deals on fresh produce and meats, too) and I don’t deprive myself of brand names. It just means that by stacking 2 coupons on a BOGO sale, last week I spent just $3.65 in total on two bags of brand-name coffee that would have otherwise cost me $14, or and bought 10 Greek yogurts while only paying for 3.
Again, this is not just for Publix - that page lists dozens of major grocery chains (including KMart, Target and Walmart) in the US and Canada. If you don’t have a printer or a computer with reliable Internet connection, you can use these sites and print out coupons at a library that does - it might cost 5-10 cents a page, but may save you 10x or more that amount.
As you can see above, I get a lot of free groceries with very little effort. I’m doing pretty well financially now, but there have been weeks in the past where I’ve been too broke to buy any groceries and have lived entirely off what I got free the week before. If you’re in a situation where every penny counts, this can save you a ton of money. This also works if you’re on EBT/food stamps and help you stretch that much farther, too.
I don’t even collect coupons from the Sunday paper because I find the time and money it takes to organize them isn’t worthwhile. I just use what I can print out from the site or sometimes I’ll Google. I figure I save about $2500 or more per year this way for a small family, which is a lot of money to me and most people I know!Hope this helps somebody, and feel free to send me an ask if you have questions or want tips.

I’m not enjoying the second half of this season as much as I’d hoped. The judging factor shouldn’t only be “How sexy was Rumplestiltskin in this episode?”

Wanna play a game?

So I need to share this with you all because it has brought me much joy the past few weeks.

There are two phone games: “Surviving High School”(a visual novel) & “High School Story” (a SIM game) In them is a character named Wes, who I swear if this game didn’t pre-date OUAT I would wonder if they didn’t intentionally clone Mr. Gold. The personality and looks are spot on. Play these games and enjoy.

The episodes in Surviving High School that revolve around him are “The Conned Artist” parts 1 & 2. It involves a bit of romance. Do it.

Currently my HSS character is dating Mr.G…erm…Wes. And yours can too.
